Adventurer

Adventurer Club

The Adventurer Ministry was created to assist parents in their important responsibilities as a child’s primary teacher and evangeliser. The Ministry aims to strengthen the parent/child relationship and to further the child’s development in spiritual, physical, mental, and social areas. Through the Adventurer Ministry, the church, home, and school can work together with the parent to develop a mature, happy child.

The Adventurer Club gives children an opportunity to belong to an organized peer group. It is open to children aged 4 to 9 and their parents. The programming and planning for Adventurers are simple and short, but creative. Parental involvement provides opportunities for parents to participate in the learning experience.

One of the main Adventurer Club objectives is to provide a meaningful and exciting experience as the children look forward with anticipation to someday being Pathfinders.

Teen Leadership Training (TLT)

A leader is a person who directs, guides, influences, and controls the thoughts, feelings, and behaviour of others to a particular end. Leadership makes a difference. To be effective leaders, we must influence others to think and act, as well as to follow. We must set an example that others “choose” to follow. The secret to eliciting that choice is the very essence of leadership.

The TLT program is designed to challenge and empower the teen Pathfinder with new and increased responsibilities while allowing them the security of doing so in a place they know and love. The TLT experience will assist the Pathfinder teen to form adult-Pathfinder relationships as an expression of their developing identity as teenagers.

The TLT program is a 4-year course that the teen starts in the Voyager Pathfinder Class. Completion of this program prepares the teen for Masterguide Training.

The Drum Corp

The Brixton Drumliners are the DrumCorps of Brixton JAYS & Brixton Senior Youth Ministry. Established in 2007, as a response to a challenge by the Pathfinders of that year, this Drum Ministry has come together to not only unify the youth and children of Brixton and its community, its true mission is to bring people closer to God through Music. We strive to instil discipline and responsibility in our Corps Members and to serve as a learning platform for outreach within the Lambeth Community. The Drum Corp is open to anyone aged 10 and above including adults.
